What Do I Do With My Empties?
If you are like me, you have an empty bottle of bourbon (or twenty!) laying around your house. If you don’t want to toss them out with the recycle, what do you do with the bottle? Check out these great ideas on how to reuse and re-purpose your empty bottles.
Don’t try this at home, leave it to the professionals!
You can usually find inspiration for what to do with your empties in your local social media groups.
I love the cigar ashtray and rocks glass set from @LiquidatedGlassets! I found this company from posts in one of the local (Virginia) Facebook groups that I am in. They also do a variety of other cut glass items, including pictures, candy and snack dishes and vases. Visit the Facebook and Instagram page to see some of their projects. If you are local to VA, they also accept bottle donations.
If you are like me, you have a bottle that has special memories related to how you got it or who you drank it with. Keeping the bottle intact is important, but you still want a great showpiece. I found these light fixtures in another local (Maryland) Facebook group.
Candles are a great way to re-purpose empty bottles and add some swag or character in your bourbon room or home. These beauties are available from My Big Fat Greek Candle on Etsy and you can customize them with your favorite scent.
Get creative on your own!
There are a lot of ways that you can use your empty bottles that don’t require cutting the bottle or specialized skills.
Other ideas for empties: use them for batched cocktails, fill them with lights and put them out for the holidays or fill them with corn/grains/sand and use as decorations around your house. I’ve even seen a few people make fridge magnets out of bottle tops.
I hope this gave you some great ideas on how to reuse your empty bottles. Get creative and think outside the box… or bottle.
