100 Thank You's

I was scrolling through the posts in The Whiskey Corner this week and I started doing some math. It’s been about 18 months since I was given the opportunity by Steve to be editor of The Whiskey Corner. It turns out that this post you are reading now is the 100th article in that time, which seemed like a perfect opportunity to pause and thank the many people who have been contributors to The Whiskey Corner. 100 “thank you’s” isn’t nearly enough.

We’ve had 16 different people in the ABV Network who have contributed to at least one article over that time. Some of the first writers were Tawnya Bennett and Wes Hardin. Tawnya has had some wonderful articles on family history in both whiskey and cooking recipes. We can always count on Wes to teach us some things about old distilleries and provide strong opinions on Bourbon issues of the day. Wes also had the idea to start The Whiskey Corner page on Facebook.

Bob Whitlatch and Chris Allsbrooks have brought in some great articles along the way, too. Bob with his love of the bottom shelfers and Chris with her cocktail expertise. Both have had fun posts sharing whiskey travel stories.

Others who have written articles or contributed to collaboration posts include: Justine Mays, Nichole Roberts, Jeremy Schell, Tony Menechella, Stephanie McNew, Rebekah Neeley, Phil Kollin, Jonathan Waunch, Zack Farrar, Tim Swiat and David Levine. And the list will only continue to grow.

For some of these, writing articles is a thing they’ve done for years and I appreciate what they bring to our readers. For others, they took their first brave steps into writing through The Whiskey Corner. It is a very cool thing to see people find this as an outlet to express their enthusiasm for Bourbon.

Of course, a thank you to Stacey Spears for hosting our Bourbon Daily take over shows. She does a great job with it (I just need to make more of those shows happen). I haven’t convinced her to write an article yet, but I’m not giving up on that!

Finally, thanks to all of the followers of The Whiskey Corner page and to the Crew Club for liking, sharing and commenting on the work from this team. 100 “thank you’s” to all of you isn’t nearly enough, either.

By the way, be looking for article #101 to come out on Monday from another new writer, Adina Ewaldz. It is fantastic.
